Overview

This journey is for you if you are interested in East Africa’s primates, birds, and culture. See the endangered mountain gorillas in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park and Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and spend time with the chimpanzees in Kibale National Park. Additionally, track golden monkeys in Mgahinga, track game in Queen Elizabeth National Park, the tree-climbing lions of the Ishasha plains, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, and experience the genocide memorial in Kigali.

Day 1 Arrival at the Entebbe International Airport

Our guide will warmly welcome you on arrival at the Airport or at your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala. For the former, you will be transferred to your hotel, where we will brief you about the next day’s wildlife safari. Depending on the time of arrival, you are advised to have your money changed on this day, and you may also have the chance to visit Kampala city, about an hour’s drive from Entebbe

Day 2 Transfer to Kibale forest National Park

After Breakfast,set off to Kibale forest National Park found in western uganda, driving through the beautiful green scenery and Panoramic views of tea plantations .Enroute stop over for lunch in Fortal Portal Town .After your lunch, you will visit the crater lakes region and then in the evening proceed to lodge in kibale. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After Breakfast,set off to Kibale forest National Park headquarters for briefing about what to do and not to do while tracking chimpanzees .After briefing ,you will set out to look for the chimpanzees and other primates including Phoestes, Red-Colobus, Blue, Red-tailed and Grey cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the dense forest , many birds species and butterflies will also be seen.Tracking might take 1 to 6 hours of which are based on the location of chimpanzees ,the guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable .Return to your lodge for lunch.in the afternoon transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for your Dinner and overnight stay

Day 4 Game drives and Boat cruise..

After an early morning breakfast, You will go for a game drive along Queens mile and Kasenyi tracks in the park. This drive will reward you with views of lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mongoose, waterbucks, Kobs and many more. Drive back to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch.In the afternoon, proceed for the launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Anticipate to see different animals including the hippos,nile crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants and many other animals as they graze, others taking water close to the shores as well as a number of bird species will also be seen along including the rare shoe bill, african skimmer, yellow billed stork, kingfishers and others.

Day 5 Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi NP via Ishasha sector with game drives in search for the famous tree climbing lions which are always spotted clinging on old fig trees. Later,proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National park found in the southern part of the country. On your arrival, you will relax at the lodge while preparing for the gorilla adventure the next day. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6 Gorilla tracking and Community walk.

In the morning after breakfast,head to the park headquarters for briefing on what to do and not to do during the gorilla tracking adventure. The safari guides will then take you to track the endangered world giants’ mountain gorillas pushing your way through the undergrowth and parting thick creepers. Gorilla trekking can take 1 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for 1 hour gazing into their big round eyes. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. After tracking the gorillas, you will have your packed lunch, Later return back to the lodge and in the evening you may choose to relax at the lodge or visit the Batwa (pygmies)community which will expose you to their culture basing on how they live, dance, and also hearing stories concerning their culture which will leave you amazed. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 7 Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

In the morning after your breakfast, transfer to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bunyonyi found in Kabale which is the second deepest lake in Africa and a great place for birders. You will be welcomed by the sweet sounds of the birds .You will choose among the various tour activities such as canoeing on the lake, walking around the island,cycling,sun bathing ,swimming (cause the lake is free from Bilharzia, hippos and crocodiles) or relaxing on the shore while enjoying the beautiful view.

Day 8 Transfer to Volcanoes national park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Volcanoes national Park in Rwanda. This journey is quite long and therefore you will reach in the evening. Check in your lodge at the park for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early morninig breakfast, transfer to the park head quarters for briefing about the Dos and Don’ts while trekking the the mountain gorillas. Thereafter transfer to the point of gorilla trek and enter into the forest jungle to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Trekking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, strenuous and tiring, sometimes taking from 1 to 8 hours in the forest. But coming in contact with the great primates is well worth the effort. which is a truly amazing experience.After coming across the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their company while taking their photos, observing their behaviour and feeding patterns which is a truly amazing experience and then go back to the park office for your gorilla tracking certificate.In the evening if time allows,have a visit to the Iby’wacu Cultural Village an eco place that showcase the Rwanda culture by the once gorilla hunters.Dinner and overnight.

Day 10 Golden monkey tracking

After breakfast, you will go for a thrilling experience of golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National park.This is a lifetime experience as you get to meet these hard to find primates. Return the lodge and rest while having a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills.

Day 11 Transfer to Kigali and Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali. You will be driven to the airport and you will depart back to your home country.
