Confirming a tour with contour safaris shows that you have fully understood and accepted the terms and conditions as described below.
To reserve/book a flight or gorilla permit we will need your full names as they appear in your passport, your nationality and passport number.
Contour safaris Ltd provides transportation, accommodation bookings, and excursions to various touristic sites, bookings at hotels and restaurants as well as other services.
Prior to confirming a safari with us, the client must inform contour safaris about any preferences as well as special requests of the participants. Like medical needs, diet, disability requirements and others. In this case, Contour safaris will try its level best to meet that request if possible.
All information detailed in the client’s itineraries is given to the best of Contour Safaris’ knowledge as well as the latest information available.
Packages are all subject to availability and not guaranteed until confirmed, many hotels and lodges offered by Contour Safaris have limited capacity and that’s why it is always advisable to make reservations in advance before the date of your planned tour.
Contour Safaris reserves the right to make changes and adjustment in the tour schedule in reference to accommodation, transportation and other services indicated in the itinerary in the event of unforeseen circumstances prior to arrival. Any adjustment made in the itinerary will be communicated to the client as soon as possible.
Contour Safaris will make the preferred adjustment where possible and confirm accordingly if a client wishes to amend any reservation in any case.
All the prices stated for the various safaris are as per the itinerary. They include services such as: guesthouses, lodges, overnight in hotel, all meals as indicated, sightseeing as discussed in the itinerary, park entrance fees and ranger fees, airport transportation, ground transfers, bottled mineral water while in transit and English speaking guides
Expenses that are not covered include; Visa and passport, domestic and international air fares, meals which are not mentioned in the itinerary, tips for the guides, accommodation on arrival, laundry, travel insurance plus other items of personal in nature.
All safaris will be booked and confirmed only upon receipt of a 35% deposit of the basic program rate. For the case of gorilla permit, a full advance payment of the permit fee is required in order to make reservations.
The payment of balance is due not later than 50 days before the tour, unless agreed upon otherwise.
Booking made within 40 days prior to arrival must be paid in full at that time of confirmation.
If payments are not received in accordance with the above, Contour Safaris has a right to cancel the bookings.
Payments can be done through these means, visa credit cards, bank transfers or cash before the start of the tour.
NB; Payments made by visa credit card has 5% service charge and this process must be done at least two months before the start of your tour. Traveller’s cheques are no longer accepted.
The cost of international transaction is to be fully paid by the client.
EXECUTION OF THE TOUR
It is exciting to see animals in their natural habitat but we can’t guarantee safety while viewing, you must take caution when viewing the animals and carefully follow the instruction given by either the tour guide or park rangers.
Gorilla permit guarantees clients to be able to track the animals but does not guarantees that the animals will be in plain sight.
Accommodation facilities are based on twin or double bed rooms, banda with private bathrooms where possible. Single rooms may be available with the payment of a supplement fee but availability cannot be guaranteed.
The means of transport used will depend on the number of clients and the route to be taken as per itinerary specification chosen. The company tries its level best to ensure that vehicles are provided in a roadworthy condition but no liability can be accepted for breakdown, damages or any other delay as a result of poor road conditions in some areas.
Contour Safaris reserves the right to change or substitute for a better hotel, if a hotel of equivalent standard is not available. The company may then substitute the next quality hotel for you (additional charges may be applied).
Contour Safaris’ experienced English speaking guides and drivers are the key part of your safari. The driver’s decision on all matters such as the routes to be taken is final.
Contour Safaris has a right to alter any route or arrangement to cancel the operation of any scheduled safari in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, problem with the national park, road closure as well as security consideration. In such scenarios arrangements will be put in place.
Contour Safaris reserves a right to hire subcontractors to carry out the part time service as agreed to be supplied.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND
All cancellation requests must be done in writing and shall be effective on the date of actual receipt by Contour Safaris.

60 days prior to arrival 12% charge
59-30 days prior to arrival 22% charge
31-10 days prior to arrival 52% charge
7-3 days before the arrival 75% charge
48 hours or less 100% charge
Contour Safaris also has the right to deduct all expenses incurred from the money paid.
Air tickets and gorilla permits are 100% non refundable.
No refunds will be done for unused services and late arrival.
Contour Safaris will do its level best to make sure that all services and arrangements delivered as part of the tour are carried out as specified in the most efficient way possible.
Contour Safaris cannot accept liability or pay compensation for unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the company or its staff including flight delays or cancellation.
Clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance prior to their arrival in Uganda .Local evacuation coverage will be carried out in unlikely event of a medical emergency while on tour with Contour Safaris.
It is responsible for the clients to take proper medical and practical precautions in regard to their health and safety. Medical advice should be sought well before travelling.
All claims are subjected to the jurisdiction of the court of the country in which the cause of action arises.
Contour safaris shall try to ensure that the company exceeds the experience in every area of the tour arrangement. However suggestions are very much appreciated in order to keep improving the quality of the service.
Complaints must be reported promptly to the Contour safaris representatives who will do their level best to resolve the matter.
