Overview

Except for the Rhinoceros, you can still catch four (4) of the critical species of Africa’s Big Five (African lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, and African Leopard) on the Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most popular savannah reserve consisting of various habitats, including grassland savannah, forests, wetlands, and lakes. This makes for a wide range of large mammals and primates. The Park is set against a backdrop of the Ruwenzori Mountains. Additionally, it has great scenic views, such as the Kazinga Channel between Lake Edward and Lake George and at least ten crater lakes. The most accessible part of the Park is the open savannah, but extensive forest areas are open to the public. These include the forested Kyambura gorge and the extensive Maramagambo Forest in the southeast.

Day 1 To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early departure from Entebbe/Kampala headed west of the country on a scenic view road trip en route to Kasese (Queen Elizabeth National Park). En route to Queen Elizabeth, watch out for the Equator, beautiful scenery, and plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. After a brief stop at the Equator, we proceed to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, we will proceed for an evening game drive where you will also see the crater Lakes, after which we will return to our accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Driving time: ± 6 hours

Luxury Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lod

Day 2 To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Upon an early morning rise, we embark on an extensive early morning game drive in the park pursuing the most wildlife congested tracks, such as the Kasenyi Track. Expect to see; Elephants, Buffalos, Lions, Bush bucks, Kobs, the rare Giant forest hogs, Hyenas, and Waterbucks. After the game drive, we return to have breakfast at the lodge and relax a bit before the next activity.

For the afternoon, we’ll take a launch cruise along the unique Kazinga channel, an experience not to miss!! Here you will also appreciate the scores of Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles close to the waterside, but if lucky enough, you could catch sight of the rare Leopard prowling. Many bird species may be spotted while on the cruise, including Pelicans, Cormorants, egrets, herons, and Jacana.

We return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the end of the launch cruise.

Day 3 End of Safari – Drive back to Kampala
